Last week in ISM, I completed my topic proposal, in which I needed to explain how I became interested in my topic and the skills I possess that will allow me to succeed in the field. I chose my topic of study to be mergers and acquisitions. This is important because it will play a role in shaping my future research and work in this class for this school year.
This past weekend, I watched a video on YouTube titled “So does private equity own everything?” uploaded by a channel called Good Work. The video showed me the complexities and behind-the-scenes of private equity and sparked my interest in exploring more into the field. It will be beneficial for me to explore private equity since it is such a significant component of mergers and acquisitions.
Additionally, for my research assessment last week, I explored the topic of capital structure. In doing so, I was able to learn more about debt and equity financing and various theories regarding capital structure.
So far, I have been doing a good job of managing my time between ISM and my other classes. I was able to turn in both my topic proposal and research assessment before their due date this week.
