Spring Break

varunganip

Over spring break, I made sure I was spending some of my time working on my final product, and I was able to get a good start on my paper about Salesforce’s acquisition of Slack.

After discussing a few times with my mentor, I was able to get some resources and documents that I could use to help guide my work. This included 10-K and 10-Q documents, which are financial reports. These documents were extremely long, with most of them being around 150-300 pages in length. Dissecting these documents was a first-time experience for me, so I was able to learn a lot.

I used these documents and some other outside research to help me complete the first section of my paper, which is the introduction and company overview. I used information from the 10-K reports for Salesforce to talk about the background of Salesforce, including what products it offers, what industry it is in, etc. I then did the same thing for Slack, but I had less to talk about since it is a simpler company.

I was a bit confused about how to approach my next section, however, which was the market overview. I received some guidance from my mentor and was able to get a start on it. I am aiming to finish the market overview by the end of this week, hopefully sooner.
