For my research assessment this week, I decided to review an article that provided an overview of M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions). Although my first research assessment was also over a general overview of M&A, the article was not very thorough, so I was not able to thoroughly analyze the article nor gain significant insight from it. Therefore, this week, I searched for a peer-reviewed academic article that would provide me with better knowledge regarding M&A.
Furthermore, I am planning on narrowing my scope and directing my future research within ISM into specific topics within M&A, such as due diligence, valuation strategies, post-merger integration, and creating shareholder value. This approach will allow me to delve deeper into the intricacies of M&A transactions and gain a more profound understanding of these aspects.
Finally, this Thursday, all ISM students across the school district will be attending the annual business symposium. While I am feeling a little nervous about it, we have been preparing in class by practicing our elevator speeches and interview skills. This business symposium promises to be an excellent opportunity for networking and gaining a preview of what future interviews with professionals I network with will be like.
