I have achieved an important milestone in my ISM journey. I have finally chosen who my mentor will be for the remainder of ISM this year. I originally contacted my mentor on LinkedIn and asked him if he would be interested in setting up a research interview. After he responded and said yes, we met on call to discuss M&A. I was able to learn so much from this interview and gain an in-depth perspective that I was not able to understand from reading articles in the past. He told me about the specific things that occur in the different stages of an M&A deal. I knew I would be able to learn a lot from Sameer and receive a lot of guidance with my final product, which is why I decided to choose him as my mentor.
I now need to start brainstorming ideas for what I want to do with my final product. While I have some potential ideas, it would be better to have different ideas to choose from and be able to get other people's opinions on how I should proceed.
