As my first semester of ISM comes to a close, I have been reflecting on how far I have progressed. During the first few weeks of ISM, I remember being unsure of where I would direct my research within finance, overwhelmed by the vast amount of things I could do with my original work, and uncomfortable with the idea of cold-calling and networking with professionals. I like to see all of these past weaknesses as hurdles. All of these hurdles provided me with excellent opportunities for growth throughout the semester.
Shifting the focus to my original work, I have come very close to completing my paper and am happy with how it turned out. All but one of my sections, including the introduction, due diligence & valuation, financing & capital structure, post-acquisition, and exit strategies, have been completed, and I created my works cited. Now, all I need to focus on is making my conclusion. I want it to be tied to the future of private equity as a whole. Additionally, I need to make sure I am correctly following all MLA format guidelines.
